OKUMA's CAS - Collision Avoidance System

OKUMA's CAS - Collision Avoidance System

The Collision Avoidance System (CAS) detects collision per 3D models of the machine components, tools, fixtures, and workpieces stored in the OSP

Our Collision Avoidance System (CAS) uses 3-D models of workpieces, tools, fixtures, turrets, and the tailstock to "think ahead" of actual machine component movements. So Okuma's new OSP-P control, with real time simulation, can check interference to stop the machine-before damaging anything.

Okuma products are 3-D designed. That means machine construction and component data can be used-very practically. Okuma designed ADMAC-Parts, a software application featuring 3D Virtual Monitor, precisely simulates online actual component motion. The OSP-P, with three times more processing speed, features CAS and other innovations-based on the OSP/Windows® collaboration.

Okuma's "Single Source for Machine & Control" bottom-up strategy made this possible. Since the birth of NC machine tools, now that dream of collision-free machining is reality, and for highly competitive machine shops everywhere. That means faster production, with no worries mate.
