Power Failure Drop Prevention

Power Failure Drop Prevention:

By: Zvika Nimni

A power failure in a production facility can cause irreparable harm, especially when it causes a tool drop of the raw material on a production machine. And imagine the loss of time and money if the machine had already been operating for a number of hours.

Despite the new braking systems on newer engines, there is still the possibility that machines will be damaged during the few seconds when the machine is out of power.

There is also the real possibility that the part will be damaged as well. Perhaps it will only be rejected; but it is also possible that it will need to be downloaded from the machine for refilling and repair. This is a very expensive operation.

OKUMA is proud to offer a solution to this problem. The new and advanced OSP-P200. OKUMA has developed a unique, patented system, solving the problem of axis drooping during a power failure. When the system detects a power failure, it sends a command to the fixed axes to move in reverse movement during a fall, as defined by specific parameters.

This particular option has been developed both for erosions and lathes of all kinds.
